Fall came suddenly. The cold awoke late one night in October and lit all the trees ablaze before sunrise. I awoke the next morning to a sharp chill in the air and brilliant red and gold-crowned trees. They are surreal.
Most fall leaves I have seen are dirty-yellow in color... dead-brown, burnt-orange - like crusty punks that plunder neighborhoods of their green. In this city, the autumn air romances the trees. The trees blush, love-ridden with the cold air, and leave a slew of blazing red leaves that look like rose petals littered on the sidewalk.
It's so freaking beautiful.
I just hope I'll still see and appreciate these little treasures in God's handiwork in the years to come.
